In May of 2019, I was selected to join the Temasek Foundation International (TFI) Scale programme, a programme which sent students overseas to complete their Overseas Social Innovation Project (OSIP).

To prepare for the the 5 week programme, we attended a Design Thinking workshop where we learnt about collaboration and problem solving. The actual programme consisted of an inbound and outbound segment.

The inbound segment took place over the first 3 weeks, where students from Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia and Myanmar came to Singapore Polytechnic to attend workshops on leadership, data analytics and a hackathon session with projects from the industry. During the remaining 2 weeks, the Singapore Polytechnic students headed over to their assigned countries to collaborate with the ASEAN students on their OSIP module.

This programme gave me the chance to work with students from different ASEAN countries as well as experience life in a foreign country less developed than Singapore.
