I was selected to attend the Asian Festival of Children's Content (AFCC) organised by the Singapore Book Council. AFCC is an annual festival that centers around the creation and appreciation of Asian content for children and young adults.

I was given a 3 day pass and attended talks and workshops by industry professionals, authors and publishers.

AFCC went beyond just giving advice to students like me. It gave me in-depth insight into what the industry I intend to venture into is currently looking for. It also opened my eyes to certain controversial topics in stories such as writing about indigenous culture and special needs.

Additionally, my group-mate and I got the chance to pitch an original concept to a panel of industry professionals from companies such as Nickelodeon and Mediacorp. We conceptualised the idea as a 'Kid's hildrens's show in Year 1 and reworked it as a 'Teen Comedy' for our pitch.
